Welcome to Year 6!

Miss Hopwood is the class teacher and Mrs Hopwood is our teaching assistant.

Our current topic is ‘A Century of Change’.  During this topic we will be looking at the events that lead up to WW2, the effects of the war on people’s lives and how society has changed since then.  If you have any family information that links to WW2 we would love to see or hear about it!

Please encourage your child to use Spelling Shed to help them to learn their weekly spellings.  Each child has been given their own login which was sent home in their homework folder.

We try to build ‘quizzing’ time into our week as much as possible.  Please continue to encourage your child to read.  Below you can find a link which provides information on how parents can help their Year 6 child with reading.  There is also a link for recommended reads for this age group.

All children are allowed to bring a named water bottle into school.  This should only contain water.
