Whales (Reception/Year 1)

Welcome to the Whales Class!

We are a mix of Year 1 and Reception children.

We enjoy learning in a practical and creative way, which engages all children in order to achieve their potential.

This year we are being taught by Mrs McCann and Mrs Shrewsbury. Mrs Coulson is our class Teaching Assistant.

Thursday – PE – Clothes and trainers worn to school

Friday – Spellings /reading books changed. Celebration Assembly

Homework for Summer term 2 is based on our ”Africa” topic. We thought it would be great fun to make a stick and twig mini mud hut in the outdoors or make a spin drum out of a variety of different media such as cardboard, plastic or wood to represent African homes and musical instruments. We would love to see any photos uploaded to Seesaw and hear the children explain how they designed, adapted and created at home.

We are very much looking forward to sharing your African wonders!

Much appreciation for your support, effort and encouragement at home.

Water Bottles

The children have constant access to a fresh water supply and juice is not allowed in class. Please provide your child with a clearly labelled sports top bottle/other closed drinking bottle. Your child is allowed to drink freely throughout the day as a means of keeping them hydrated. Your child may need two bottles if they have a packed lunch, one for class and one for their lunch. We are unable to provide cups if your child forgets their water bottle.
