PE (Physical Education)

For PE we use the Lancashire scheme to implement various areas of sport throughout the academic year. We are also lucky enough to have Fleetwood Town, to work alongside the class teacher, to deliver PE weekly to each year group.

We are a member of the Wyre and Fylde partnership (SSP) who organise inter-school competitions in which we attend with much success.

Swimming

Year 5 will be swimming for Autumn term through to Spring, then Year 4 will be swimming in the Summer term. In Summer term, we will have the opportunity for top up swimming lessons based upon swimming data.

Year 6 have the opportunity to take part in a swimming gala with other schools locally. Pupils within our year 6 cohort are assessed against the national curriculum requirement to swim competently, confidently and proficiently over a distance of at least 25 metres, use a range of strokes effectively and perform safe self-rescue in different water-based situations.

Health & Well-being Day!

On Thursday 21st October, all our children took part in a Health and Well-being day! As a school we are passionate about raising the awareness and importance of our health and well-being and teaching our children the skills in order to lead a healthy and balanced lifestyle. All children took part in Yoga, Healthy Heads classroom based session and a practical session outside. Please see below pictures from the day and feedback from staff and pupils.

‘Dolphins had so much fun learning how to throw and catch. They learnt the power of positivity, trying and not giving up. They also improved their listening skills and realised that being faster was not always best’ Mrs Parry

‘The Yoga was just what the class needed. We practised the deep breathing and calming techniques that we learned in the YOGA‘ Year 4

‘We liked that there was a good variety of activities throughout the day for us – there was something for everyone’ Molly Y6
